Rats and mice are a serious pest of Humans and the management options vary depending on the species and amount of activity found. The rodents that are of great concern in the urban pest control context include the Norway rat, the common roof rat which are found in most houses and the house mouse. These animals are well adapted to living in very close association with humans, sharing their food and shelter. Throughout history rats and mice have been responsible for enormous losses of food and, owing to there ability to transmit diseases to humans by a variety of means, losses of human lives.

Rats and Mice carry many harmful diseases such as; Lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCMV) – viral infectious disease that is transmitted through the urine and saliva of rats and Salmonellosis – if you consume food or water that has been contaminated by rat feces you can get this disease. When rodents are running through your kitchen cabinets, along your countertops, and underneath your plumbing, they are spreading the disease throughout your whole property. Rodents can also cause harm to your property as they can chew through wires, plastic and wood, this then leaves large holes in walls and floorboards.
